Gevoelige tanden

Pijnloos kunnen genieten van eten en drinken zou vanzelfsprekend moeten zijn. Echter, door erosie of slijtage van de tanden en kiezen, kunnen er lokaal pijnlijke wortelhalzen en gevoelige tanden of kiezen ontstaan.

De behandelaren van EviDent Mondzorg kunnen met u bekijken wat de oorzaak is van de gevoeligheid. Vervolgens zijn er een aantal behandelopties:

Met behulp van een sealant of (tijdelijke) laklaag op de wortelhalzen kan de gevoeligheid worden weggenomen. Meestal is de sealant na een of tweemaal herhalen permanent.
Ook kan met vullingmateriaal een (nagenoeg onzichtbare) permanente vulling over de versleten wortel worden gelegd. Dit voorkomt ook verdere slijtage.
Als de gevoeligheid een groter gedeelte van het gebit betreft, zal uw behandelaar bekijken of knarsen/ klemmen misschien de oorzaak is. Hiervoor kan dan een beschermkapje voor in de nachten (een splint) worden geadviseerd.

Naast de oplossing voor de gevoeligheid zal uw behandelaar bij Evident Mondzorg ook de oorzaak onderzoeken. De bahandelaar bespreekt met u hoe verdere gevoeligheid zoveel mogelijk te voorkomen is.
